Pickering Casino

This facility features a vast retail and gaming floor, 2,500-seat theatre, 275 hotel rooms and a 3,000-stall parkade and is one of the largest resorts in Canada. WHM developed an interlocking curved steel truss resembling a fish so the large 17,000-ft2 open atrium could be free of any structural columns. The truss was integrated into the theme of the atrium and left exposed, showcasing the building structure in an artistic way. The truss also supports a large, cantilevered canopy resembling the shape of a leaf.
